1. Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to the MonglePet mobile application distributed through Google Play and to features provided directly within the App.

This policy does not apply to independent websites, applications, advertising services, or other services operated by third parties. Those services are governed by their own privacy policies and terms.

By installing or using the App, you acknowledge that you have reviewed this Privacy Policy. Where consent is required by applicable law, the App or a relevant third-party service may request your consent separately.

2. Information stored through the App

The App allows you to enter and manage information relating to your pets. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

• Pet names, species, breeds, sex, birth dates, or profile details
• Pet profile images selected by the user
• Weight records and target weight information
• Food, treat, walking, playtime, and activity records
• Body measurements and related notes
• Reminder schedules and notification preferences
• App settings and language preferences
• Backup data created at the user’s request

This information is intended to describe pets and their daily records. Users should not enter unnecessary personal, confidential, medical, financial, or other sensitive information about themselves or other individuals.

3. Local data storage

Pet records and App settings are generally stored locally on the user’s device. The developer does not operate an account system or a dedicated server for receiving and centrally storing these pet records.

Information stored locally may remain on the device until it is deleted within the App, removed through the device settings, or deleted when the App is uninstalled. Device behavior may vary depending on the operating system, manufacturer, backup settings, or other device configuration.

4. JSON backup and restore

The App may allow users to export records as a JSON backup file and restore records from a selected backup file.

Backup creation is initiated by the user. The backup file is saved to a location selected or approved by the user through the device’s storage interface. The developer does not automatically receive the contents of the backup file.

Once a backup file has been exported, the user is responsible for:

• Selecting an appropriate and secure storage location
• Preventing unauthorized access to the backup file
• Avoiding unintended sharing or uploading of the backup file
• Deleting old or unnecessary backup files
• Confirming that a selected restore file is valid and trusted

If a user independently uploads, sends, or synchronizes a backup file through a third-party storage or communication service, the processing of that file is governed by the selected third party’s privacy policy and terms.

5. Device permissions and features

The App may request or use device permissions and system features only when necessary to provide the relevant functionality.

Users can manage permissions through the device settings. Disabling a permission may prevent the related feature from operating correctly.

6. Home screen widget

If the user adds the App’s widget to the home screen, selected information such as a pet’s recent weight, feeding information, activity information, or reminder status may be visible on the device’s home screen.

Anyone who can view or access the unlocked device may also be able to see information displayed by the widget. Users should remove the widget or restrict device access if they do not want this information to be visible.

7. Advertising and third-party services

The App may display advertisements through Google AdMob and related Google advertising technologies.

Google and its advertising partners may automatically access, collect, receive, or process information such as:

• Device or other identifiers, including advertising identifiers
• IP address and general network information
• Device model, operating system, language, and app version
• Advertising interactions, impressions, and click information
• Approximate location inferred from an IP address, where applicable
• App activity and technical usage information
• Crash, performance, and diagnostic information
• Fraud prevention and security-related signals

This processing may be used to provide ads, limit ad frequency, measure advertising performance, prevent invalid traffic, detect fraud, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and, where permitted and consented to, provide personalized advertising.

The exact information processed may depend on the user’s region, device settings, consent choices, Google account settings, the version of the advertising SDK, and applicable law.

Users may be able to manage personalized advertising through device settings, Google account settings, consent controls shown in the App, or Google’s advertising settings. Available controls may vary by device and region.

8. Personalized and non-personalized advertising

Where required by law, an advertising consent message may be shown before personalized advertising or certain advertising-related storage and processing is enabled.

Depending on the user’s choice and region, the App may request personalized ads, non-personalized ads, limited ads, or another advertising mode supported by Google.

Non-personalized or limited advertising does not necessarily mean that no data is processed. Advertising providers may still process information for contextual advertising, frequency capping, reporting, fraud prevention, security, diagnostics, and legal compliance.

9. Information the developer does not intentionally collect

Except for information processed through third-party services described in this policy, the developer does not intentionally collect pet records from the user’s device through a developer- controlled server.

The App is not designed to collect:

• Account passwords
• Government identification numbers
• Payment card or bank account information
• Contact lists
• Call logs or SMS content
• Precise GPS location
• Human medical records

Users should not enter this type of information into pet names, notes, image filenames, backup filenames, or other free-form fields.

10. Data sharing

The developer does not sell pet records entered into the App.

Information may be processed or disclosed in the following circumstances:

• By advertising and technology providers as described in this policy
• When the user intentionally exports, shares, or uploads a backup file
• When required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request
• When reasonably necessary to protect users, the developer, or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats, or unlawful activity
• In connection with a legitimate transfer, restructuring, or discontinuation of the App, subject to applicable law

11. Data retention and deletion

11.1 Locally stored App data

Records stored locally remain on the device until the user deletes them in the App, clears the App’s storage through device settings, or uninstalls the App.

11.2 Exported backup files

Backup files exported by the user are retained in the storage location selected by the user. Uninstalling the App may not delete independently exported files. Users must delete those files manually through the device’s file manager or the relevant storage service.

11.3 Third-party advertising data

Data processed by Google or other third-party service providers is retained and deleted according to their own policies, legal obligations, and user settings. The developer may not have direct access to or control over those retention periods.

11.4 No user account

The App does not currently provide a developer-operated user account system. Therefore, there is no App account that must be separately closed or deleted by contacting the developer.

12. Security

Reasonable measures are taken to limit unnecessary access to user information and to use platform-provided storage, permission, and security mechanisms where appropriate.

However, no device, software, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer cannot guarantee that information will never be lost, corrupted, accessed, disclosed, or altered without authorization.

Users are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, including screen locks, operating system updates, secure backup locations, and control over access to exported files.

13. Children’s privacy

The App is intended as a general pet record-management utility and is not specifically directed to children.

The developer does not knowingly request or collect personal information directly from children through a developer-operated account or server. If a parent or guardian believes that a child has provided personal information directly to the developer, they may contact the developer using the contact method shown in the App’s Google Play store listing.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising a child’s use of the App and managing the device’s advertising, permission, purchase, and privacy settings.

14. International processing

Third-party services, including Google advertising services, may process information on servers located outside the user’s country or region. Different countries may have different data protection laws.

Such transfers and processing are handled by the applicable third-party service provider under its own legal basis, contractual safeguards, privacy policy, and applicable law.

15. User choices and rights

Depending on the user’s location and applicable law, users may have rights concerning personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or withdraw consent for certain processing.

Because pet records are generally stored only on the user’s device, users can ordinarily access, edit, export, and delete those records directly through the App or device settings.

Requests concerning data controlled independently by Google or another third party should be submitted directly to that provider. The developer may not possess or be able to identify information retained solely by an independent third party.

16. Veterinary and health disclaimer

The App is provided as a personal record-keeping and organizational tool. It is not a veterinary service, medical device, diagnostic tool, prescription service, or substitute for professional veterinary advice, examination, diagnosis, or treatment.

Weight goals, charts, reminders, statistics, and other information displayed by the App are for general reference only. They may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, or inappropriate for a particular animal.

Users are solely responsible for verifying records and consulting a qualified veterinarian regarding an animal’s health, weight, diet, medication, symptoms, or treatment. Seek professional veterinary assistance when an animal experiences sudden weight change, illness, injury, unusual behavior, or another health concern.

17. Service availability and responsibility

The App is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law. Features may be changed, interrupted, restricted, or discontinued due to maintenance, device compatibility, operating system changes, third-party service changes, legal requirements, or other circumstances.

The developer does not guarantee that all records, notifications, widgets, backups, charts, advertisements, or other features will operate without interruption or error on every device.

Nothing in this Privacy Policy excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

18. Third-party links and services

The App or this Privacy Policy may contain links to third-party websites or services. The developer does not control and is not responsible for the content, security, availability, or privacy practices of independent third parties.

Users should review the privacy policy and terms of a third-party service before providing information to or using that service.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be revised when the App’s features, data practices, third-party services, legal requirements, or Google Play policies change.

The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Where required by law or appropriate due to a material change, additional notice or consent may be provided through the App or another reasonable method.

Users are encouraged to review this page periodically.

20. Language

This Privacy Policy is provided in English and Korean for convenience. Both versions are intended to describe the same data practices.

If an inconsistency arises, the version required to be given priority under applicable mandatory law will apply. Otherwise, the English version may be used to assist interpretation.

21. Developer and contact information

When submitting an inquiry, please do not include unnecessary passwords, financial information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive personal information.
